Media and Information Literacy (MIL) is a “combination of knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices required to access, analyse, evaluate, use, produce, and communicate information and knowledge in creative, legal and ethical ways that respect human rights.
he objective of Media and Information Literacy is to engage the citizen in digital society because nowadays, most of the content are not real, and it’s easy to spread fake news in the internet and almost they believed in wrong. So that’s why Media and Information Literacy was created. For the people who are easy to deceive. To be able to understand, ask and communicate and think critically. And it encourage you to share other source of information but you may also the responsible for the information that you spread. This makes media literacy to teach and to learn an to give idea to something.
Media and information increases everyday and it becomes so abundant that it can be found anywhere, anytime specially in the booming era of data and information explosion. Becoming media and information literate individuals will test our patience on how we deal with information. It includes a certain level of respect towards those who need and request for it. Respect for information need means we allow each and everyone to express their ideas, opinions and expressions fully without any judgment or prejudice. MIL teaches us to use information and media content in an ethical, efficient and effective manner.
In my opinion, we need to know about Media and Information Literacy because it help us to understand how communication works without any bad experiences and to spread true information
